Promotion!
We’d like to congratulate our very own Mark Blackburn on his promotion to manager. Mark started at working for SNE at the age of 16 and has since progressed to team leader, then senior carer followed by care coordinator and with hard work and dedication has now been appointed to area manager.
We asked Mark these questions and this is what he had to say.
What are you most excited about in your new role as Manager?
"In my new role as a manager I am most excited to support the team to strive for the company vision. I am looking forward to gaining further knowledge in other departments such as finance and building a team ensuring that it is compliant and that we are all working hard as a team to complete the required work load."
What are some of the biggest challenges you anticipate facing in this new position?
"There are various challenges that I may anticipate facing in this new position. I have faced many challenges during my working time at SNE Care and am always willing to resolve any challenges that I may face. I work alongside my team to overcome any challenges and receive support when required."
How do you plan to support and motivate your team?
"I plan to support and motivate my team by fostering individual development and providing support when necessary. to be a hands-on manager and will ensure to highlight positives amongst the team as I believe this supports motivation. When it is communicated by higher management something you are doing good, this supports your desire to continue working hard as it is being recognised and praised. We hold regular management meetings where I will ensure to feedback any important information about the team and request any training sessions that I believe my team may benefit from to support the growth of individuals as well as requesting certain rewards for those who have worked well."
What advice would you give to someone aspiring to a management position?
The advice I would issue to someone aspiring to be a manager is to continue going and never give up. Ensure to take any training that is offered to you that will support your personal growth. You will have good days and bad days but it is important to continue going. The purpose of being a manager is to support your team with personal growth and to improve your business overall and this takes an individual with the appropriate personality, skills and knowledge so it is very important that you self reflect in order to improve your self as an individual, remember there is always room for improvement
Congratulations to Mark we can’t wait to see how you grow and settle into your new role at SNE.
